The Midwest African American Genealogy Institute is offering a tuition scholarship to individuals who are passionate about genealogy research and have a financial need. To be eligible:
· Applicants must prepare a write up of no more than 500 words that shows an interest in genealogy
· Their intent to use the education for personal or professional purposes
· Have an interest in African American ancestry
· Have a commitment to pursuing genealogy research and sharing knowledge
· Be able to explain the importance of genealogy in understanding personal and family history
· Include the selection of your MAAGI Track (1A, 1B, 2A, 2B, 3, & 4)
The value of the scholarship is $325 towards 2024 tuition. The MAAGI Scholarship Committee will approve and make the selection for each Track. Apply for the Scholarship via the website from Feb 1, 2024, until April 30, 2024, by submitting a WORD document to [email protected]. In the subject line please place the word “Scholarship and the Track” you are applying for. Announcement of the Winners will be announced by May 15, 2024.
