2026 Registration Fees

$325 per student
Please note: MAAGI 2026 will be fully virtual meaning Online Only.​ 
Registration for 2026 will open January 2, 2026, and closes on June 15, 2026.

Policies

Track Assignments
​By completing registration, I acknowledge that I have selected my preferred track(s) and understand the following:
  • Track selections may be changed through June 15, 2026.
  • After June 15, 2026, track assignments cannot be changed, except to correct an error made by the Midwest African American Genealogy Institute (MAAGI) or if participation prerequisites are not met.
  • All tracks are subject to change and space availability.

Refund Policy
The Midwest African American Genealogy Institute (MAAGI) understands that unforeseen circumstances may arise. The following cancellation and refund policies apply:

​Participant Cancellations
  • Registrations canceled on or before June 15, 2026, by phone, in writing, or online are refundable.
  • Refund requests received after June 15, 2026, will be subject to a $50 administrative fee.

Institute Cancellations
  • If MAAGI must cancel the Institute due to unforeseen circumstances, the registration fee will be refunded in full.
  • MAAGI does not assume responsibility for additional costs or expenses, including travel or lodging.
Unforeseen circumstances may include, but are not limited to:
  • Inclement weather or natural disasters
  • Site unavailability
  • Technology challenges
  • Presenter absence

Deposit Terms
  • Registrations secured with a deposit must be paid in full by July 1, 2026.
  • Remaining balances must be paid online only.
  • If the balance is not paid by July 1, 2026, the system will automatically charge the same card used for the deposit.
  • To use a different payment method or avoid automatic charging, participants must log into their account to update payment details or contact MAAGI before the final payment deadline.

Release of Liability

By registering for, participating in, and/or volunteering at this event, I acknowledge and agree to the following:
Assumption of RiskI voluntarily assume all risks associated with participation in this event, including but not limited to risks arising from negligence or carelessness of the persons or entities being released, dangerous or defective equipment or property, or liability without fault. I certify that I have no medical or health-related conditions that would prevent my participation.

Use of This Waiver
I understand and agree that this Accident Waiver and Release of Liability applies to the event holders, sponsors, and organizers of this activity and will govern my actions and responsibilities while participating in the event.

Waiver and Release
​In consideration of being permitted to participate in this event, I, on behalf of myself and my executors, administrators, heirs, next of kin, successors, and assigns, hereby:

(A) Waive, release, and discharge from any and all liability, whether arising from negligence or otherwise, for death, disability, personal injury, property damage, property theft, or any other loss that may occur to me, including during travel to and from the event, the following entities and individuals:
  • Midwest African American Genealogy Institute (MAAGI)
  • Allen County Public Library
  • Their directors, officers, employees, volunteers, representatives, and agents
  • Event holders, sponsors, and volunteers

Indemnification and Covenant Not to Sue

​(B) I agree to indemnify, hold harmless, and not sue the entities and individuals listed above for any claims or liabilities arising from my participation in this event, whether caused by negligence or otherwise. I acknowledge that MAAGI and its representatives are not responsible for the errors, omissions, or actions of any third party conducting activities on behalf of MAAGI.

Medical Consent
​I hereby consent to receive medical treatment deemed necessary in the event of injury, accident, or illness occurring during my participation in this activity or event.
